Arrr! We seem to have an obsession with pirates in our family. We dressed as pirates for Halloween a couple years ago. And, we even have pirate costumes for our Disney cruises.

Needless to say, my kids love playing pirates and reading pirate stories. Add that to my daughter’s love of trains, and the Pirate Train book fits right in with our love of pirates!

I’m so excited to share it with you!

This story is about a pirate family, which includes a mom, dad, brother sister, and, of course, a parrot! I love how one of the children in the story is a girl. My daughter loves pirates, and so many pirate books only focus on the boys!

Things are going great for this pirate family until someone gets SEASICK! Yes, pirates can get seasick too! They have to take their whole operation to land, and their solution is a pirate train! They make the most of their new home and even welcome a new family member. If your kids love pirates, they are sure to love this book!

Here’s the description of the book from the author:
The Pirate Train tells the story of the Yo-Ho-Matey family whose youngest son upsets their pirating plans (he gets seasick), and they have to re-imagine their life as a result. In the first book, the Yo-Ho-Matey family buys their train and travels to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas to dig for treasure, but each book features a new adventure that further develops the characters and highlights fun destinations for treasure-seekers.”

  1. My son would love this book, his name is Adrian. I think my little princess may enjoy the book as well! Hmm.. could possibly be something they’d share and get along for? 🙂

  2. My son would love this book, we had a pirate theme birthday party for Jack and the Neverland Pirates. He enjoys anything pirates, it would be great to add this book to his book collection. Thanks for the chance!
