My kids are distance learning and homeschooling this school year. It’s definitely been an unusual school year full of online meetings, reading, projects, and lots of quality time. One thing that I’ve noticed is they always seem to be extra hungry while doing school work!
I’ve had to cut way back on their snacking. Another thing I’ve been better about is making sure they fill up at mealtimes. I also encourage them to drink plenty of water.
When they do snack, I make sure they’re making healthy snack choices and find something that will keep their bellies full for a while! I like to find snacks that are high in protein and not too high in sugar.

These Hormel Happy Little Plants Protein Puffs are the perfect school day snack! Checking out the nutrition facts on these, you’ll find that they contain 16 grams (which is 29% of your daily value) of plant-based protein. The puffs stick with my kids well and they aren’t asking for another snack 5 minutes later! One bag is around 150 calories, depending on the flavor.
These Plant-Based Protein Puffs come in a variety pack if you want to try out all the flavors. Or, you can buy a box of just your favorite flavor! My older kids especially liked the nacho cheese flavor. I’m excited because these are a much healthier alternative to many of the other cheese puff type snacks that are currently available!
All three varieties of the protein puffs are gluten free. The cinnamon and sugar flavor is also dairy free. They’re also non-GMO and contain no preservatives, so you can feel like you’re serving the kids a healthy snack!
I’ll have to try these out on my toddler! She is the pickiest!
I would love the Cinnamon and Nachos, my kids are picky but they would love this for sure.
Protein Puffs are such a good snack idea for the kids. Way better than junk food.
I haven’t yet tried these protein puffs but they sound so healthy and yummy I’ll definitely look for these puffs at the store & Amazon
