I posted earlier this month about home air quality. Depending on your type of pollution, here are some examples of easy things that can be done to improve your air quality.
Circulate more air with exhaust fans when cooking.
Keeping air moving moves fresh air in and pollutants out. Make sure the filters on your exhaust fan are cleaned regularly, too!
Open windows in nice weather.
This creates additional air flow and will remove that stale air feeling!
Get some houseplants.
Houseplants can clean your air. Certain types of plants are better for cleaning different pollutants. If you have pets or children, make sure to pick plants that aren’t toxic!
Use low VOC cleaning products with adequate ventilation.
When you clean inside your home with the windows closed, you’re trapping the chemicals and pollutants in! Some cleaning products are better than others in terms of air pollution. Keep the air moving while cleaning if you can.
Sign up for an air monitoring service like Homelab.
It’s best to know what type of pollution you have and the best way to fix it! Sevrices like Homelab can help by showing you what areas you need to improve and offering tips for cleaner air. See my earlier post for a special discount!
