This dairy free alfredo sauce is so easy to make! My youngest daughter can’t have dairy, but she loves pasta. I started experimenting, because I really wanted to create an alfredo recipe that my whole family could enjoy with our little dairy free family member. This was a hit. My older kids loved it, too!
I found these ingredients at King Soopers, but they are also available at most grocery stores that have a good dairy free selection.
1 container (8 oz) of dairy free cream cheese (I used Tofutti)
1 cup of dairy free plain yogurt (I used Silk)
2 Tablespoons dairy free butter substitute (I used Earth Balance)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Seasoning to taste (I used 1/2 teaspoon of Wildtree Garlic & Herb Blend)
This is so simple! Just put everything in a large pan and heat it up over medium heat. You can speed things up by allowing the cream cheese to soften at room temperature before you add it to the recipe.
The cream cheese takes a while to melt, but it will have a smooth, creamy texture when ready. This made a good amount of sauce for one box of pasta. We put ours on linguine!
