Black Friday 2020 Shopping Tips

Black Friday is always a big shopping day for our family. I like to finish off any gaps in our holiday shopping by taking advantage of discounts. I used to get up early to visit different store locations in the early morning. Target Black Friday Deals tend to be the best for the items that I’m shopping for. Last year, I even had my sister running out to find the last life-sized Rapunzel at any Target in the state. It’s always interesting! While Black Friday 2020 will probably look different than previous years, there will still be plenty of deals out there. You can be sure that retailers won’t miss this opportunity to help earn your holiday shopping business! I personally plan to do a lot more of my shopping online this year, and I expect that retailers will have a lot of their deals available online. I’m actually looking forward to NOT standing in a store parking lot at 4am. I can be be at home in my pajamas and still save money on gifts!

Getting the Best Deals during Black Friday 2020

Plan Ahead
Review the ads before Black Friday arrives. Many stores are starting early in November this year. Many of the ads have already been released on Slickdeals. I like to make lists of items that I want, so I can see which store is offering the best value. If you people on your list with no gift ideas, keep them in mind, too. That way you can be on the lookout for their perfect gift while looking through the ads.

Beware of Shipping Charges
There’s nothing worse than finding a great price with a huge shipping charge. Since some retailers have a minimum free shipping threshold, you can often save on shipping charges if you do enough shopping at one retailer. Some retailers will offer free shipping for Black Friday or promo codes for free shipping, so keep an eye out! Also, consider shipping gifts straight to the recipient to save on shipping charges later! Some stores also offer card holders or rewards members free shipping. For example, I love that I get free shipping at Target with my Red Card!

Shop Around
Sometimes stores will drop their price or match the price based on another sale. It’s worth visiting the competitor’s website. I find that Amazon, Walmart and Target will often change their prices based on other stores once the ads have been released. I love when I find a deal on SLickdeals, because they will add other retailers that may have the same price to the post. It saves me so much time!

Don’t Give up Early
In previous years, I’ve also had luck finding some deals on Cyber Monday. Virtual shopping seems like the perfect fit for 2020, so hopefully we’ll see that retailers have saved some great sales for that day!
