If you want to reduce your grocery bill, there are lots of ways to do it. This post focuses on apps to save money on groceries! Yes, your phone can actually help you reduce your grocery bill! I typically get around $10 per week back from these! That’s a 10% savings on our weekly grocery bill!
Apps to Save Money on Groceries
Savingstar was the first app I started using. You scan your receipt and scan your items in order to redeem offers. Some offers are on individual items and some require you to purchase a certain dollar amount from a specific brand over a period of time. They have a large list of participating stores. They have a weekly healthy produce offer and periodically offer free items, too. The time for them to process your receipt typically takes a little longer than the other apps, but you can cash out with as little as $5. You can choose Paypal or a variety of gift cards.
Checkout51 has lots of different products with rebates. You have to upload a copy of your receipt. Some offers require you to scan your items to redeem, but many do not. There is a weekly produce offer for 25 cents on this app. There is a $20 minimum to cash out, so it takes a bit longer to see your first rebate.
#3 – Ibotta
There are many grocery rebates available at all times. You can also earn rebates from some online retailers. Offers can vary. They occasionally have smaller generic grocery rebates, but most are brand sponsored. You sometimes have to do a small task, like watching a video or taking a poll, to unlock the rebates. Your facebook friends can help you earn bonuses if you connect your facebook account. You can cash out to various places (including paypal) when you meet the $20 minimum amount. Receipts are processed very quickly and your offers are sometimes redeemable more than once.
#4 – Grocery Store apps
Many grocery stores have their own apps with digital coupons. Here is Colorado, we have King Soopers (part of the Kroger family) and Safeway (part of the Albertsons family). They offer extra savings and fuel rewards.
I love using all of these. Do you know of any others?
